Holland Park Library

Paragon Furniture was commissioned to design, craft, polish, deliver, and install a beautiful, traditional English-style library-cum-study for a Canadian couple residing in Holland Park, London.

From the outset, the brief carried a sense of nostalgia and purpose. The husband had just one request: to create an authentic old English library—timeless, refined, and deeply comfortable. A space where, on a Friday evening, he could sit with his brother, a glass of brandy in hand and a Cuban cigar nearby, and put the world to rights.

The vision was not simply about furniture, but about atmosphere. Rich timber tones, classic detailing, and a sense of quiet permanence were essential. Every element was carefully considered to evoke the character of a traditional gentleman’s study—somewhere that feels both distinguished and inviting.

The result is a room that balances elegance with warmth: a private retreat designed for conversation, reflection, and the simple pleasure of unwinding at the end of the week.
